Hide & Drum Days 2026
Free Community Gatherings

Over the last decade I've been learning to transform animal skins into buckskin, leather, furs and drums.  My wonderful teachers and the time Iv'e spent relating to the animals' lives and deaths have offered me a lot of love and direction.

I view this work less as preservation, and more as a celebration.  It truly feels like magic. My favorite part is always learning and working together as a community.

You are invited to join my 1st

Want to make your own Frame Drum?

My favorite way to work with deer skin is to make beautifully resonant frame drums.

I clean and prepare skins given to me by local hunters and roadkill as rawhide drum skins.

If you want to make your own frame drum please plan to attend at least 1 full day, 2 days is better and necessary if you want to make a drum beater or paint your drum.

Please Let me know what size drum you would like to make and I will soak rawhide for you in advance.

I am asking a suggested donation for drum makers: 50 - 100 dollars Plus the cost of materials,

(includes: rawhide, lacing, solid wood drum hoop, paints, and tool upkeep),

I am open to barter & work trade.

All are welcome to come and learn, help, and hangout during the gathering at no cost.
