  • Sunday November 16, 11-6 pm - Nut Fest

We are teaching and vending at Nut Fest at Rose Hill Cidery,  Rose Hill Farm 19 Rose Hill, Red Hook 12571

This is an awesome gathering of all the Nutty nerds around... all are welcome to come roast chestnuts, crack acorns and walnuts, and learn about the bounty that comes from the trees.  The event is Free, asking a $15 suggested donation.

Mark will teach about acorn flour processing, and how to make leather using acorn tannins. (I think at 11 am)

There will also probably be nut-themed games, a kids area, and more lessons throughout the day.

We will be selling all of our goodies, and our new Hot Acorn Chai.

  • CALLING ALL SQUIRRELS -

We harvested a lot of acorns this fall!!!

Thanks to the help of a lot of friends and the beautiful oaks in Phoenicia that produced a nice crop.

Now it is time to dry the acorns so that they do not rot.  The easiest way to do this is to make it a game!!!

We need kids & fun-adults to come over every week to stir, flip and swim through the acorns and mix them all up so that they dry evenly.

Sign up - this may be your only chance this year to literally sink into a pile of acorns!!!
